my first time
This is the first time i've blogged.....it's becoming quite fashionable to do so these days, but i'm not following fashion, i just want to vent out my opinions at whoever crosses my cyberpath. I'm sitting here trying to study for next monday's exam, but a question keeps popping in my head. Why is Malta always the same? We try to change, we really do, but after months/years of preparing and debating a sustainable environment we always end up back to square one.
The Kalkara valley dispute has been going on for years now. But MEPA is still resolute on proceeding with the rape of such a jewel. i've been trying to understand the logic but i realized they just don't have any. how can they preach about sustainable development when they really don't know the meaning of such a phrase? how can they come up with a programme to safeguard Malta's diminishing land resource, when all they do is give permits to build in areas such as the Kalkara Valley? I'm not the only one to be dissapointed by the way things are heading, thousands of Maltese protest, write letters to the local newspapers, become part of NGOs....some even start blogging....just to make their voice heard, but do things really change? oh yes they do....but only for the worse.
i think it's high time for MEPA to recheck its priorities and listen to the voices....
